I had a dream about Facebook last night, and this morning I realized that I need to step away from the computer for a while.

I'm going to write in my paper journal, read the newspaper, read books, and draw actual pictures with a PENCIL.

I'll be back to update when I stop having internet-related dreams.

Tah tah.

09:32 am - Cold air, hot soup.
Mmmm....Tortilla Soup with avocado is the winner.

I made a big pot full of:
vegetable broth
green onions
garlic
winter squash
carrots
tomatoes
sweet corn
pinto beans
2 corn tortillas, cut into pieces
cumin
salt
pepper
Tabasco
fresh lime juice

...and then I let it simmer for about 25 minutes.
Ladled into a bowl and topped with chopped avocado & fresh cilantro. There are still about 5 servings left, and I could probably eat them all today. SO satisfying.

Bowl of fresh pineapple

Steamed broccoli with raw marinara (sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, onion, herbs, red wine and nutritional yeast, all pureed)

Dinner.....salad? Fruit? Probably both.

Ahhhh, somehow being vegan is easier for me than being lacto-ovo.
I feel like I don't have to worry about my fat intake very much, because most everything I'm eating is naturally low in fat (and all unsaturated!).

And it's definitely easier than being raw. I can eat the same things with my husband now, and that is really satisfying. There's a lot of bonding that goes on when I eat with someone.
"Mmm, this is so good, can you believe how good this is?"
"Yeah! It's fucking good!"

Haha.
That's totally the conversation in our house.

A day of mini-meals*:

1 apple
Coffee with almond milk

Slice rye toast with vegenaise, sun-dried tomatoes & nutritional yeast
Cup of granola with hazelnut milk (added sunflower seeds, raisins & dried cherries)

Another slice rye toast (hey, it's a small loaf!) with herbed almond cheese
Coffee with raw cocoa powder, date sugar and hazelnut milk

Steamed broccoli w/ agave-mustard sauce
{20 minute fast walk}

*I just noticed that every single thing I ate today was organic. That rules.

Tonight at work I will make a tempeh/spinach/red pepper/garlic stir-fry.


(Hmmm, I wonder how many calories I'm lookin' at here? I should keep that in check...)

Today:
1/2 grapefruit

1 slice Ezekiel bread w/ raw pesto, a little vegenaise, raw seed parmesan and homemade seitan
Coffee w/ almond milk

Going to pack a mish mash dinner to bring to the restaurant tonight. I imagine it will include plums, persimmons, and raw chocolate pudding. And perhaps a scoop of creamy seitan-salad with mint and basil (to throw on top of my salad greens). Hey, that sounds pretty good.

Shower.
Primp.
Bicycle.
Work.

...dancing?

Rejuvelac is good and weird.
It is a liquid made by pouring water over sprouted wheat berries (in a jar with a ventilated cover) and allowing it all to ferment at room temperature for 48 hours.
The liquid that you drain off the wheat berries has become naturally fizzy and tart. You add a squeeze of lemon juice to keep it fresh, and refrigerate it. This is rejuvelac.

You can drink it plain, or use it in place of water in raw recipes. Supposedly highly nutritious, and full of good bacteria.

I just sipped some. Not gross. A little bit good. Tastes like a really mellow cucumber soda.

Picked up my weights today, for the first time in over a month. Just a short workout relieved a lot of stress I must have been carrying around.
I'm going out for a walk in a moment...I've been flu-ish for a few days, and laying around the house is doing NOTHING for my recovery. In fact, my butt hurts from the massive amounts of sitting.

Back and forth between raw, cooked, vegan, lacto, whatever.
I just want to eat GOOD STUFF that will make me FEEL GOOD, too.

Today:
1/2 cup coffee (trying to cut back) with almond milk
1/2 grapefruit, 1 persimmon, 2 plums (finally defrosted the plums I froze this past summer from our tree---oh my lord they are the sweetest, juiciest fruits ever)

Arugula, red peppers & homemade seitan with olive oil, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, and sea salt.

A few spoonfuls of raw dark chocolate pudding (pureed dates, avocado, cocoa powder & agave)
Yes, it's good. Real good.

You know that song "Mind Games" by John Lennon? Man, I'd be really happy to never hear it again. It's annoying. And John Lennon is way overrated. I prefer Paul McCartney any day.
